Ibn Yunus is known as one of the greatest astronomers of all time. From the young age he was always looking at the stars and thinking about them.
He was the first man to calculate when a solar eclipse would take place. A crater on the moon was named after him.
Ibn Yunus was born in Egypt around the Year 950. He is rightly called “The Father of Astronomy”. Astronomy is the study of the Sun, Moon, Stars and the Planets.
