The Prophet (saaw) says:
“Between a person and disbelief is the discarding of Prayer”
(Muslim)
Imam Nawawi said while explaing this Hadith: “The Prayer is like a barrier between Kufr (disbelief) and Islam, so whoever who does not perform prayer, he will enter in Kufr (he will be disbeliever).
The Prophet (saaw) said:
“If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day, would you notice any dirt on him?” They said, “Not a trace of dirt would be left.” The Prophet (saaw) said: “That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out evil deeds.”
(Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
